We know that you may have many questions before booking a training course - here are just a few of our most frequently asked questions from our delegates.

Can I use these courses as part of my on-going CPD portfolio?

All of our training courses are taught to the highest possible standard and are designed to provide further knowledge and skills for all health and social care professionals. Many of our courses (both online and classroom based) have been independently accredited by the CPD Certification Service and all delegates will receive a named certificate of participation for use as evidence when compiling CPD portfolios. 

Who will be teaching the courses?

We work alongside a network of qualified and experienced trainers to ensure that your training is at a high standard. Each course is led by a different trainer who has extensive experience within their relevant field. We are proud that many of our trainers have led training workshops on our behalf for a number of years.

How many people can I expect on my course?

This will depend on the course. Where possible we stick to smaller delegate groups to enhance your learning experience but typically delegate numbers will range from 9 to 22 people.

The course I want to benefit from is all booked up, can I be added onto your waiting list?

Of course. Our classroom based training courses book up very quickly, so we would recommend booking in advance where possible, however on occasion we may be able to include you at short notice if there is a last-minute cancellation. We would strongly recommend that if you want to attend a specific training course that you book your place as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

What can I expect from your training courses?

Whether you sign up for a one-day, two-day or even a five-day training course, you will be provided with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to help you improve your day-to-day work. Our courses feature a mix of presentations, group and individual activities, quizzes, games and even role play to help bring the learning to life.

At the end of the course you will be provided with a detailed delegates pack featuring all course materials and suggestions for further reading which will allow you to further supplement your knowledge.

How early do I need to book onto your course?

Early booking is essential if you wish to guarantee a specific course date. We endeavour to have as many possible date options available at all times to ensure flexibility and ease of booking however no place is guaranteed until we receive full payment.

I want to book onto one of your courses, do I need to make an immediate payment?

Where possible, full payment to secure your place is advised however we know that some months may be more difficult than others, so we will always work with our delegates to offer flexible payment deadlines.

For those booking onto our ABE training course, a payment plan is available courtesy of Divido however this is subject to a credit check.

If you would like to book onto a course but would prefer to split your payments, please feel free to get in touch with us directly and we can arrange a bespoke arrangement.

Where are your courses located?

We are working hard to expand our training portfolio and we are taking our courses to more locations than ever before, ranging from London through to Luton, Peterborough, Northampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Bradford, Leeds and Manchester.

When adding new locations to our course calendar, we consider ease of access as well as public transport, ensuring that the chosen venue is convenient for our delegates.

How can I book onto one of your courses?

The easiest way to book onto one of our courses is to book online using our online shop. Simply choose your preferred course date, add to basket and continue through to checkout.

If you have any issues with booking online, we can also accept payments over the phone – simply call us on 0333 7000 028 to register your details.

I recently booked onto one of your courses but I can no longer attend. What are your cancellation terms and conditions?

We try to be as flexible as possible with our delegates and if you need to reschedule your training at a later date due to unforeseen circumstances, then we will try to make this possible.

Cancellations are only considered when notice is given in writing at least 28 days prior to the course date and will be subject to the following terms and conditions.

More than 28 days prior to course start date – no fee
More than 21 days (but less than 28 days) prior to course start date – 25% of course cost
More than 14 days (but less than 21 days) prior to course start date – 50% of course cost
More than 7 days (but less than 14 days) prior to course start date – 75% of course cost
Less than 7 days prior to course start date – 100% of course cost

Do you do discounts for group bookings?

Yes. If three people book together, we can offer each person a 10% discount – to benefit from this generous offer, please contact Charlotte Keeble on 0333 7000 028.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a group training session for your team, why not enquire about our bespoke training courses which could be a more cost-effective option as we will arrange for our course trainer to visit you in your own offices to deliver the training workshop.

Do I have to be registered with Sanctuary Personnel to undertake your courses?

No, our courses are publicly available.

Will Sanctuary provide me with a new job after completing one of your training courses?

Whilst we cannot guarantee a new job/promotion after participating in our training, regular training can lead to a wider variety of opportunities.

Does your training adhere to English, Welsh or Scottish legal frameworks?

Our training adheres to English frameworks however our trainers are extremely knowledgeable. If you require guidance on how the training relates to the health and social care professions in Scotland or Wales, please let us know in advance and we can ensure we have relevant course materials available.

I’m looking for a course which will help me return to social work after a career break. Can you help me?

Our courses are designed with the needs of practicing health and social care professionals in mind, so may not be suitable for a return to practice.

If you have had a lengthy career break, we would recommend checking the latest advice and guidance from your regulatory body such as the HCPC or the NMC or alternatively contacting your local authority or NHS trust for further guidance.

Do you provide Best Interest Assessor training?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the full Best Interest Assessor Training which would be undertaken at a university. I suggest you contact your local university to see if they carry the full training.

Our one-day refresher course is an annual legal requirement for those currently working within a BIA role as it ensures that their knowledge is up to date with the latest legislation.

I live overseas and I’m preparing to move back to the UK. What courses would you recommend which will allow me to work within a social care role?

There are two main aspects to you being allowed to work as a social worker in the UK – having the right to work in the UK, and being registered to work as a social worker in this country.

Sanctuary Social Care have published guidance on this issue, and we would recommend reading their advice about what you should expect.

I’m currently working as a social worker within Adult services. Can I do your Form F assessment training?

Yes you can do the training however you may find that you are at a disadvantage if you decide to move into a fostering role as you may not have the relevant experience required.
