Duties:

  • Provide a Social Work service in accordance with departmental policies and priorities and to participate in the costing, coordination, monitoring and review in line with department procedures
  • Maintain awareness of current legislative requirements as relating to children and to participate in relevant training
  • Use regular supervision and staff appraisal and participate in staff meetings to ensure an effective service to users and carers and further professional development
  • Work according to the SWE guidance regarding working hours, professional conduct and anti-discriminatory practice
  • Work according to the data protection and confidentiality standards
  • Participate in the development and implementation of performance indicators and quality service standards

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
  • Willing to undertake a DBS check
  • Be able to speak with confidence and accuracy, demonstrating appropriate skills in spoken English for the effective performance of the tasks required for this role
  • Passion to work with others to improve outcomes for children and young people
  • Excellent assessment, analytical and reflective skills
